The Feast of the Assumption (Celebrated: 15th August) is a commemoration of the death and ascension of the Blessed Virgin Mary’s body and soul into heaven.
Written records of the Assumption date back to a fourth-century document titled, “The Falling Asleep of the Holy Mother of God.” It was probably written by John the Apostle who was entrusted by Jesus to care for Mary moments before His death on the Cross.
Of course, since then, Mary has appeared to many people across the whole world; a mix of children and adults, Religious and laypeople. Such visions have given added confirmation to her personal glory in Heaven and her continued commitment to guide and help us in our daily life.
The Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is the 15th August.
