In 1879, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared at Knock, Ireland. To Mary’s right stood St Joseph and on her left, St John the Apostle. Slightly to St John’s left was an altar with a Lamb (Lamb of God) and a Cross in the background.
The apparition remained for two hours and was witnessed by fifteen people from 5 to 75 years old.
Today, the site is Ireland’s National Marian Shrine. The Feast of Our Lady of Knock is 21st August.
