Jesus’ Life: Chapter 10 – Jesus’ Last Journey To Jerusalem
Have you lost anything of great monetary or sentimental value recently? How did you react? Perhaps, you shrugged your shoulders and drifted off to do something else! That’s very unlikely, a sense of loss usually preoccupies us until we find our treasured article.
Jesus asked, “What woman, if she has ten silver coins and loses one of them, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search thoroughly until she finds it?”
Jesus placed sinners at the top of His list of “Greatest Treasures” and He offered his own life to find their lost souls.
Jesus happily dined with sinners. He came into this world to share with them another way of life. He wanted them to repent and follow his teachings. In return, he forgave them their sins while the Angels in Heaven watched and rejoiced at the saving of each.
There is no greater loss than the loss of one’s own soul. (Luke 15:8-10)
Thought
Jesus promised to remain with us every moment of each day. However, the special bond between us is damaged when we sin but heavens Angels wait, hoping that we will repent and seek forgiveness.
Reflection
Lord Jesus, I place all my trust in you. Forgive me my sins.
Prayer: Light (Gospel Extracts)
The light of God surrounds me,
the love of God enfolds me,
the power of God protects me,
the presence of God watches over me,
wherever I am, God is,
and where God is, all is perfect.
