Jesus’ Life: Chapter 10 – Jesus’ Last Journey To Jerusalem
A matter of great importance to the Pharisees was knowing when the Kingdom of God would come. They expected it to be an event of great pomp and celebration.
When they put the question to Jesus he answered, “The coming of the kingdom of God cannot be observed, and no one will announce, ‘Look, here it is,’ or, ‘There it is.’ For behold, the kingdom of God is among you.”
Jesus was telling them that the Kingdom of God was already present through his preaching and healing ministry. It was a spiritual rule (“Not of this world”. John 18:36) over those who submitted to His teachings thus, God’s authority.
The kingdom of God is “within” us. (Luke 17:20-21)
Am I a fully committed member of the Kingdom of God? Yes, of course…
Lord Jesus, thank you for your spiritual nourishment. May your word be visible within me, as I go about my work today. Amen.
Prayer: Come Holy Spirit
Come Holy Spirit,
fill the hearts of your faithful
and kindle in them the fire of Your Divine Love.
Send forth Your Spirit and they shall be created,
and You shall renew the face of the earth.
O God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit
instructed the hearts of the faithful.
Grant, that by the same Spirit we may be truly wise
and ever rejoice in His consolation.
We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen.
