Jesus’ Life: Chapter 5 – The Sermon On The Mount
Do you base your future happiness, on your present or forthcoming worldly riches?
Sometimes people find themselves materially richer than others. However, they strive to remain spiritually rich by living a life of sharing and helping.
Jesus said, “Woe to you who are rich, for you have received your comfort already.
Woe to you who are well satisfied with food now, for you will be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep.”
His warning was direct; if our comforts are primarily of a worldly nature and our concerns for our brothers and sisters are sparse, our future is “Woeful”. (Luke 6:24-26)
Thought
I wasn’t born alone, I do not live alone. So, why would I behave as if I am alone?
Reflection
Lord Jesus, teach me the ways of your Holy Spirit.
Prayer: Holy Spirit
Come Holy Spirit,
fill the hearts of your faithful
and kindle in them the fire of Your Divine Love.
Send forth Your Spirit and they shall be created,
and You shall renew the face of the earth.
O God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit
instructed the hearts of the faithful.
Grant, that by the same Spirit we may be truly wise
and ever rejoice in His consolation.
We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen.
