Jesus’ Life: Chapter 3 – Jesus’ Early Public Ministry
It’s an obvious question: Why did God send Jesus his Son into this world?
To send someone to their death by crucifixion, there must have been a very special reason! After all, God was sending Jesus, his only Son, to earth, knowing He would be rejected and suffer greatly at our hands.
The answer is, “For the Love of Us”. Jesus said, “God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life”. (John 3:16)
Thought
God loves you and me, in times of happiness and distress, and even when we choose to walk away from Him.
God created us and waits patiently for us to talk to him.
Reflection
Lord Jesus, forgive me my sins, save me from temptation and help me survive the perilous journey to your eternal banquet.
Prayer: Love (Corinthians 13:4-7)
Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts,
always hopes and always perseveres.
