You may be your own worst critic. Don’t be. Be your best supporter because only you know the small things that you think and do and say. Every compliment thought or said is positive, each small prayer is good – for other people’s kindness and encouragement. Don’t criticise yourself for what you can’t do but be grateful for what you can.
Be good at saying thank you from your heart, eyes, lips. That blesses others who feel encouraged to tell others and do the same. One genuine smile from you might travel the world from one person to the next, to the next . . . .
When you give time to God in the course of the day – the Church recommends seven pauses for prayer: morning, mid-morning, mid-day, mid-afternoon, evening, night and a prayer called Readings – think of three things good since your previous prayer. For example prayer for migrants, refugees and aid workers. God has heard those little prayers, your heart has been touched. Would you include me sometimes, and the generous people keeping the parish and its many activities running so smoothly.
Thank you.
