Extract
Jesus said to his disciples, “Watch out, beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and the yeast of Herod”, but they didn’t understand. (Mark 8:15)
Thought
The disciples thought Jesus was talking about the use of yeast to make bread but, no! Yeast had another meaning, it symbolised corruption. Jesus was alerting them to such dangers.
Reflection
Lord Jesus, dangers surround me. Help me to guard against short-term attractions. Give me the strength to see only You and your message of eternal life.
Prayer: Love
Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes and always perseveres.
