Prayer is Love, I want to Love

The Rich Man and Lazarus (1)

Extract

Lazarus outside the Rich Man's Palace
Lazarus at the Rich Man’s gate

There was a rich man who dressed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day.

At his gate, lay a poor man named Lazarus, whose body was covered with sores and longed to eat what fell from the rich man’s table.

The dogs came and licked Lazarus’ sores. (Luke 16:19-21)

Thought

When did we see you hungry, we will ask!

The wealth we could share comes in many different forms. Yes, food, water, warmth, clothing, an education and so on, but also time, a warm welcome, a sense of belonging, a spirit of equality… and many others! Richness is not always about money!

Reflection

Lord Jesus, open my eyes to my wealth and my heart to the poor.

Prayer: Anima Christi

Soul of Christ, sanctify me
Body of Christ, save me
Blood of Christ, inebriate me
Water from the side of Christ, wash me
Passion of Christ, strengthen me
O Good Jesus, hear me
Within Thy wounds, Lord, hide me
Suffer me, not to be separated from Thee
From the malicious enemy defend me

In the hour of my death call me
that I may praise Thee with Thy Saints and Angels,
forever and ever. Amen.
