Prayer is Love, I want to Love

The Request Of James And John (2)

Extract

Question Mark

The brothers, James and John, asked Jesus if they could sit one at his right and one at his left in heaven.

Jesus replied, “You don’t know what you are asking! Are you able to drink the cup I drink or be baptized with the baptism I experience?” (Mark 10-38)

Thought

Following Jesus’ crucifixion and death, James and John accepted the sacrifice Jesus asked of them and helped spread His Gospel across the world. Are they now enjoying the rewards of Heaven with Jesus? Yes, of course.

Reflection

Lord Jesus, teach me how to live your ways, and remain in your loving and comforting presence for all of my days.

Prayer:  Our True Love (Hildegard of Bingen)

Jesus Christ, the love that gives love,
You are higher than the highest star;
You are deeper than the deepest sea;
You cherish us as your own family;
You embrace us as your own spouse;
You rule over us as your own subjects;
You welcome us as your dearest friend.
Let all the world worship you.
