When the King cancelled the debt of the slave who owed him 10,000 talents, the slave refused to show the same mercy and forgiveness to his slaves.
To one who owed him 100 silver coins he, “Grabbed him by the throat and started to choke him, saying, Pay back what you owe me… he then… threw him in prison until he paid the debt!” (Matthew 18:28-30)
Thought
How forgiving am I?
Reflection
Lord Jesus, open my heart to my selfishness and greed. Instil in me a warmth and love for my brothers and sisters that will never die.
Prayer: Memorare
Remember O Most Gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known
that anyone who fled to Thy protection,
implored Thy help or sought Thy intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly unto Thee O Virgin of Virgins, my Mother;
to Thee, I come; before You, I stand,
sinful and sorrowful,
O Mother of the Word incarnate,
despise not my petitions;
but in Thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.
