Extract
Jesus told a gathered crowd the Parable of the Rich Landowner.
The story is about a farmer who had such an exceptional crop yield that his barns could not store all the food. So he thought to himself, let me build a bigger barn and then with food in store for many future years, I can relax, eat, drink and celebrate.
God then said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded back from you… the one who stores up riches for himself… is not rich toward God”. (Luke 12:20-21)

We can be very short-sighted at times; today and tomorrow belong to God.
Reflection
Lord Jesus, decrease my interest in earthly abundance and increase my faith in you so that, I am always in You. Holy Spirit enlighten me.

Most Holy Virgin Mary, Help of Christians,
how sweet it is to come to your feet
imploring your perpetual help.
If earthly mothers cease not to remember their children,
how can you, the most loving of all mothers forget me?
Grant then to me, I implore you,
your perpetual help in all my necessities,
in every sorrow, and especially in all my temptations.
I ask for your unceasing help for all who are now suffering.
Help the weak, cure the sick, convert sinners.
Grant through your intercessions
many vocations to the religious life.
Obtain for us, O Mary, Help of Christians,
that having invoked you on earth
we may love and eternally thank you in heaven.
