Jesus said to his disciples, “Do you think I have come to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division”. (Luke 12:51)
Thought
Jesus’ teachings led to conflict among the people of his era, in families and their communities. Some believed his Gospel and some didn’t. A similar division continues throughout our world today!
However, Jesus’ Gospel is essentially a Gospel of Peace. He asks us for a love greater than that which we have between brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers. He also promised to help us when we are in need, if we ask and if it is for our greater good.
Reflection
Lord Jesus, walk with me today, strengthen my love for You, teach me how to listen to your ways and grant me the wisdom to accept my burden with a smile.

Mary, Queen of Peace,
save us all,
who have so much trust in you,
from wars, hatred and oppression.
Make us all learn to live in peace,
do what is demanded by justice
and respect the rights of every person,
so that peace may be firmly established. Amen.
