Jesus said, “Love your enemy and pray for those who persecute you”. (Matthew 5:44)
Loving an enemy is like saying, love a sinner! Jesus tells us that we must pray for our enemies, even those who injure us; we must pray for all sinners.
Lord Jesus, as I carry my small burden today, help me to recognise my “enemy”, and give me the courage to pray sincerely for them.
Prayer: The Sick
Father, your Son accepted our sufferings,
teaching us the virtue of patience in human illness.
Hear the prayers we offer for our sick brothers and sisters.
May all who suffer pain, illness or disease
realise that they are chosen to be Saints,
and know that they are joined to Christ
in his suffering for the salvation of the world.
