Prayer is Love, I want to Love

John The Baptist’s Message

Extract

Quote: Honesty & Fairness

As John the Baptist preached his message of repentance to the crowds, they asked, “What then should we do?”

John answered, “The person who has two tunics must share with the person who has none, and the person who has food must do likewise.”

To the Tax Collectors present, he said, “Collect no more than you are required to” and to soldiers he said, “Take money from no one by violence or by false accusation and be content with your pay.” (Luke 3:11-14)

Thought

Fairness and honesty! We all expect it but maybe, we don’t always give it!

Reflection

Lord Jesus, help me to face the truth about myself. Expose the innermost depths of my heart to reality. Guide me in how to live today in faith, love and humility.

Prayer: The Sick

Lord Jesus Christ,
you bore our sufferings and carried our sorrows.
In order to show us clearly,
the value of human weakness and patience,
graciously hear our prayers for the sick.
Grant that those who are weighed down,
with pain and other afflictions of illness,
may realise that they are among the chosen ones,
whom you call blessed.
Help them to understand,
that they are united with you in your sufferings,
for the salvation of the world. Amen.
