Jesus’ Rejection At Nazareth (1)

Extract

Word "No!"

When Jesus announced that he was the Christ, he did it in his hometown of Nazareth.

At first, the people were astonished but then listening to his preaching a little more, they became enraged and forced him out of the town to the brow of the hill, “so they could throw him down the cliff”. (Luke 4:29)

Thought

Many of today’s Apostles continue to suffer the same type of rejection; they are ridiculed and even martyred.

Reflection

Lord Jesus, help all Priests and Religious to use their talents to convey God’s message but to rely above all, on the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Prayer: The Sick

Father, your Son accepted our sufferings,
teaching us the virtue of patience in human illness.
Hear the prayers we offer for our sick brothers and sisters.
May all who suffer pain, illness or disease
realise that they are chosen to be Saints,
and know that they are joined to Christ
in his suffering for the salvation of the world.

Private Moments

Hymn: Lord, I Lift Your name On High

Almighty Father, thank you for this new day. Bless me and keep me safe.

Lord Jesus Christ,  guide me in my work, silence my fears and accept my achievements as a small gift of thanks to You.
