When Jesus’ disciples said to Him, “Now we know that you know everything and…. Because of this we believe that you have come from God”. Jesus replied, “Look, a time is coming – and has come – when you will be scattered, each one to his own home, and I will be left alone”. (John 16: 29-33)
Although the disciple’s faith in Jesus was obvious, its strength and power were open to doubt!
A short time after this event, when their “faith” was challenged in the Garden of Gethsemane, they scattered!
Will I hide from opportunities to live Jesus teachings today?
Lord Jesus, open my eyes to my weaknesses. Grant me the courage to proudly announce and live your ways in all my actions today. Amen.
Prayer: The Lord is My Shepherd
The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in pastures green,
He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil, for you are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil, my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and kindness will follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Amen.
