Once, when Jesus had finished praying, one of his disciples asked him how to pray.
Jesus answered, “When you pray, say, ‘Give us each day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And do not lead us into temptation’”. (Luke 11:3-4)
Thought
Falling victim to temptation is easy and may go unnoticed. It often starts in small ways and the sin then gradually grows in magnitude over time.
We need to seek God’s daily grace to help avoid the many temptations that befall us.
[An Our Father is a quick reaction line to keeping temptation at bay and it works!]
Reflection
Lord Jesus, help me to pray with sincerity and a true desire to change my wrongdoings.
Prayer: All Needs
We beg you, Lord,
to help and defend us.
Deliver the oppressed.
Pity the insignificant.
Raise the fallen.
Show yourself to the needy.
Heal the sick.
Bring back those of your people who have gone astray.
Feed the hungry.
Lift up the weak.
Take off the prisoner’s chains.
