Extract
The Pharisees and law experts asked Jesus, why his disciples didn’t respect the tradition of their elders and perform ritual washing before eating.
Jesus answered, “You hypocrites… have no regard for the command of God, but you hold fast to human traditions”. (Mark 7:8a)
Thought
Traditions are often helpful and based on wise practice but they should not be to the detriment of one’s soul!
God comes first!
Reflection
Lord Jesus, help me to use my time wisely; always finding more space in my life, for you, my Saviour.
Prayer: Priests and Religious
St Paul, great convert and Apostle,
guide all priests and religious.
Help them realise that their actions
speak louder than any words.
Teach them to use their talents
to convey God’s message
but, to rely above all,
on the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
