Extract
Once when Jesus entered a Samaritan village, the people refused to welcome him.
The disciples James and John were very angry and suggested consuming the village with fire like Sodom and Gomorrah but Jesus immediately rebuked them and, “They went on to another village”. (Luke 9:56)
Thought
How often do we allow our anger to influence our actions? Controlling our emotions is a big part of living God’s message of love.
Reflection
Lord Jesus, help me to see only ‘love’, no hatred today. May love shine from every child and adult whom I meet, my equals and my superiors. This I ask through Mary your loving Mother. Amen.
Prayer: Teach Us (St Ignatius of Loyola)
Teach us Good Lord;
To serve you as you deserve;
To give and not to count the cost;
To fight and not to heed the wounds;
To toil and not to seek for rest;
To labour and to ask for no reward,
Save that of knowing we do your will.
