Before the Risen Jesus ascended to heaven, He instructed his disciples to: “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature. The one who believes and is baptised will be saved, but the one who does not believe will be condemned”. (Mark 16:15-16)
Thought
The instruction was a very heavy burden!
Although Jesus’ mission on earth as a man had now ended, he appeared to his disciples and others on multiple occasions following his resurrection, helping them to prepare for the next stage of their ministry.
That ministry has since been passed to our present Pope, Bishops, Priests, Deacons and Religious, as well as, you and I.
Reflection
Lord Jesus, guide me in my words and actions today? However small or big, may they be pleasing to you and a fitting example to those around me.

Sweet Jesus, Body and Blood most Holy,
be the delight and pleasure of my soul,
my strength and salvation in all temptations,
my joy and peace in every trial,
my light and guide in every word and deed,
and my final protector in death. Amen.
