When Jesus appeared to the eleven, while they were eating, “He rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen him resurrected. He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:9-15)
Thought
Trust is defined as the “firm belief in the integrity of a person or thing”. In this instance, the Apostles lack of trust in their fellow disciples and the many women was “rebuked”, as well as of course, their trust in the promises Jesus made that He would rise again.
Jesus’ resurrection is a beautiful celebration.
Reflection
Risen Lord Jesus, calm my fears and grant me the grace to proudly proclaim your resurrection to my family, my friends and my community this Easter Season.
Prayer: Beatitudes
Happy are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Happy are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Happy are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Happy are they who hunger and thirst for righteous sake, they shall be satisfied.
Happy are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
Happy are the clean of heart for they shall see God.
Happy are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.
Happy are they who suffer persecution for justice’s sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Amen.
