When Jesus climbed a mountain near to the Sea of Galilee, large crowds followed bringing with them the lame, blind, crippled, mute and people with many other ailments.
Jesus healed them all; “The crowd was amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled healthy, the lame walking, and the blind seeing, and they praised the God of Israel”. (Matthew 15:31)
Thought
What joy it must have been for the families, parents, sons, daughters… to see their loved ones healed and hear Jesus’ new Gospel. It must have been truly a time of great celebration.
Jesus is still with us today, healing and asking us to place our complete trust in his merciful love.
Reflection
Lord Jesus, may my faith neither wane nor wander. May it shine brightly and fill the hearts of everyone I meet today. Amen.
Prayer: Peace (St Francis of Assisi)
Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is error, truth;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
