As Jesus walked by the Sea of Galilee, “He saw two brothers, Simon (called Peter) and Andrew, casting a net into the sea (for they were fishermen)”.
Jesus said to them, “Follow me, and I will turn you into fishers of people”. (Matthew 4:18-19)
Thought
Can any of us claim that we are not, “Fishers of people?” Not really!
Although Priests and Religious commit their lives in a very special way to discipleship, our daily actions greatly influence our family and catch the eye of our friends and everyone we make contact with.
Our many small behaviours matter; others notice and they copy!
Reflection
Lord Jesus, grant me the grace of a “Good Fishing Net”. May my actions inspire the footsteps of others so that, one day, we will all learn to walk together in your love.
Prayer: Memorare
Remember O Most Gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known
that anyone who fled to Thy protection,
implored Thy help or sought Thy intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly unto Thee O Virgin of Virgins, my Mother;
to Thee, I come; before Thee, I stand,
sinful and sorrowful,
O Mother of the Word incarnate,
despise not my petitions;
but in Thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.
