Daily Prayers

Prayer is Love, I want to Love

Jesus’ Call to Faithful Stewardship (2)

Extract

Q. Are we ready?

Jesus said to his disciples, “Be like people waiting for their master to come back from the wedding celebration, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him”. (Luke 12:36)

Thought

Juggling the many daily challenges that we or others set before us, can be exhausting. But, as St Paul of the Cross once said, “The service of God… requires fervour and courage”.

Reflection

Lord Jesus, guide me in my daily chores and strengthen me by the grace of your Holy Spirit.

May I live today as if it will be my last!

Prayer: Lord My God (St Anselm of Canterbury)

O Lord my God.
Teach my heart this day,
where and how to find you.

You have made me and remade me,
and you have bestowed on me all the good things I possess,
and still, I do not know you.
I have not yet done that for which I was made.
Teach me to seek you,
for I cannot seek you unless you teach me,
or find you unless you show yourself to me.

Let me seek you in my desire;
let me desire you in my seeking.
Let me find you by loving you;
let me love you when I find you. Amen.
