Extract
A Pharisee invited Jesus to his home.
While eating, a woman described as a “sinner”, stood behind Jesus crying. As her tears fell on his feet she wiped them away with her hair and then anointed his feet with oils. The Pharisee was extremely disappointed!
Why? He believed that if Jesus was a Prophet he would know she was a sinner and, if a Prophet, He should not be associating with sinners! (Luke 7:36-50)
Thought
My humble head tells me, if the world applied the same Pharisee rules to our lives, We would have no friends and no one to eat or talk to. We are all sinners.
Reflection
Lord Jesus, You came into this world to save sinners, people like me. Thank You, for inviting me to your table. I repent and seek your forgiveness.
Prayer: Poor – Daily Service
Make us worthy, Lord,
to serve our brothers and sisters throughout the world,
who live and die in poverty and hunger.
Give them, through our hands,
this day their daily bread,
and by our understanding love,
give them peace and joy.
Make us, Lord,
worthy to serve our brothers and sisters,
scattered all over the world,
who live and die alone and poor.
Give them today, using our hands, their daily bread.
And, using our love, give them peace and happiness. Amen.
