It was when Jesus saw the faith of those who carried the paralytic to Him that He reacted saying, “Have courage, son! Your sins are forgiven… Stand up, take your stretcher, and go home.” (Matthew 9:1-8)
The paralytic and his friends, without reservation, firmly believed in Jesus’ Divine Powers.
Jesus’ first action was to forgive the man his sins. So must we seek Jesus’ mercy and forgiveness before we ask for his miraculous help.
Reflection (Miracle Prayer)
Lord Jesus, I come before you, just as I am. I am sorry for my sins, I repent of my sins,
please forgive me. In your name, I forgive all others for what they have done against me. I renounce Satan, the evil spirits and all their works.
Prayer: The Lord is My Shepherd
The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in pastures green,
He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil, for you are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil, my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and kindness will follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Amen.
