Extract
A man offered to follow Jesus wherever he went. Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens, and the birds in the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head”. (Matthew 8:20)
Thought
Jesus didn’t seem to refuse the mans offer but he warned him that he would have no safe home or feathered nest, like the foxes and birds! Perhaps, Jesus knew the man hadn’t understood the real implications of his offer!
Reflection
Lord Jesus, I pray for all Church leaders. Grant them the gifts of understanding and vision, and the energy to inspire their flock in Your teachings.
Prayer: Priests and Religious
St Paul, great convert and Apostle,
guide all priests and religious.
Help them realise that their actions
speak louder than any words.
Teach them to use their talents
to convey God’s message
but, to rely above all,
on the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
