Extract
The fifth commandment states, thou shalt not kill. Jesus added, “But I say to you that anyone who is angry with a brother will be subjected to judgment. So then, if you bring your gift to the altar and remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First, go and be reconciled to your brother”. (Matthew 5:22a, 23-24a)
Thought
Being happy means being at peace. When at peace, anger will have no place.
Say sorry to family, relatives, friends and colleagues. Pray for those who harbour grudges. When peace reigns in your life, there will be a celebration in Heaven.
Reflection
Lord Jesus, guide me through my indiscretions and grant me your precious gift of peace.
Prayer: Psalm 130
Out of the depths, I cry to you, O Lord,
Lord, hear my voice.
O let your ears be attentive to the voice of my pleading.
If you, O Lord, should mark our guilt,
Lord, who would survive?
But with you is found forgiveness;
for this we revere you.
My soul is waiting for the Lord,
I count on his word.
My soul is longing for the Lord,
I count on his word.
My soul is longing for the lord,
more than watchmen for daybreak.
Because with the Lord, there is mercy
and fullness of redemption,
Israel indeed he will redeem from all its iniquity.
