A woman cried out to Jesus to help her demon-possessed daughter.
Jesus appeared to ignore her calls and the disciples wanted to send her away!
The woman was not going away! She came up to Jesus and did him homage. Jesus then turned to her and said, “Woman, great is your faith! Let what you want, be done for you”. (Matthew 15:28)
How persistent am I? Do I give up at the first hurdle or perhaps, leave it for others to keep trying?
Jesus often taught the need to persevere, that’s the foundation of a good faith. Don’t give up! Don’t stop praying.
Lord Jesus, may my faith be a shining example for all to admire as I go about my work today. Thank you, Jesus, for your great help and mercy.
Prayer: Day-by-Day (St Richard of Chichester)
Praise be to Thee, O Lord Jesus Christ
For all the benefits you have given us,
for all the pains and insults which you have borne for us.
O most merciful Redeemer, Friend and Brother,
May, we see you more clearly,
Love you more dearly,
and follow You more nearly.
Day by day. Amen
