Prayer is Love, I want to Love

Jesus’ Ministry In Capernaum

Extract

Long road ahead

Having performed many miracles in Capernaum including, healing the sick and casting out demons, Jesus went to a quiet place to pray and plan his departure. However, the crowds went looking for him, they wanted him to stay in Capernaum and tried to prevent him from going to other places.

Jesus said to them, “To the other towns also I must proclaim the good news of the Kingdom of God because for this purpose I have been sent”. (Luke 4:44)

Thought

Unlike Jesus, we don’t have to move house or town to continue spreading His Good News.

In our daily life, there are many simple opportunities available through our words and actions such as, living by our Gospel teachings, telling our children about Jesus and supporting our Priests and the Church.

Small steps, a little help, can make a big difference! Celebrate the small steps!

Reflection
Jesus in Capernaum

Lord Jesus, you delight in seeing us rejoice in your work. Lift our hearts and thoughts, strengthen our will to proclaim your Good News.

Prayer: Psalm 130

Out of the depths, I cry to you, O Lord,
Lord, hear my voice.
O let your ears be attentive to the voice of my pleading.
If you, O Lord, should mark our guilt,
Lord, who would survive?
But with you is found forgiveness;
for this we revere you.
My soul is waiting for the Lord,
I count on his word.
My soul is longing for the Lord,
I count on his word.
My soul is longing for the Lord,
more than watchmen for daybreak.
Because with the Lord, there is mercy
and fullness of redemption,
Israel indeed he will redeem from all its iniquity.
