All Souls Day

Today we honour and pray for the Souls of our ancestors, friends and relatives who have passed from this earthly life. The special occasion is commemorated by Christians and others alike. In addition to attending Mass or other services, it is common practice for people to visit the graveside or remembrance place of loved ones. They reflect, pray, place flowers, light candles and celebrate in the belief that the dead are benefiting from their prayers, even perhaps celebrating and praying, for and with them, in their new heavenly home.

+ In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen +

Celtic CrossShort Quote: Jesus said, “…the one who comes to me I will never send away. Everyone who looks on the Son (Jesus) and believes in him to have eternal life, I will raise him up at the last day”. (John 6:37b, 40b)

Thoughts: Our departed family and friends brought much joy into our past life. We won’t forget them in death.

How can I make today special for them? Pray, reflect, remember the good times…

Private Reflection: O God, you are the Creator and Redeemer of all. Grant to my departed family and friends, the forgiveness of their sins and eternal joy with you in Heaven. This I ask through your Son, Jesus Christ.

Prayers: Eternal rest grant to my departed family and friends O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.

All Souls: We pray for you. May you Rest in Peace. Amen.

Today’s Music Suggestion: Make Me A Channel Of Your Peace

+ In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen +
