When Jesus asked Simon Peter for a third time, “Do you love me?” a distressed Simon replied, “Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.” (John 21:17)
Thought
Simon Peter had denied knowing Jesus three times, now for a third time he was emphatically embracing his love for Jesus and highlighting Jesus’ almighty power, Jesus knew even the deepest secrets within his heart.
Reflection
Lord Jesus, I love You, from the bottom of my heart.
Prayer: Anima Christi
Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Christ, inebriate me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O Good Jesus, hear me.
Within your wounds Lord, hide me.
Suffer me, not to be separated from you.
From the malicious enemy defend me.
In the hour of my death call me that I may praise you with the Saints and Angels, forever and ever. Amen.
