Jesus started his preaching in Galilee, following John The Baptist’s arrest. He said, “The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the gospel!” (Matthew 4:12, Mark 1:15)

Lord Jesus, indebted to you for your self-sacrifice, forgive me my sins and strengthen my faith.

O Lord, support us all the day long of this troublous life,
until the shadows lengthen, and the evening comes,
and the busy world is hushed,
and the fever of life is over, and our work is done.
Then, Lord, in thy mercy,
grant us a safe lodging, a holy rest,
and peace at the last. Amen.
