Jesus said to the Jewish Leaders, “You sent emissaries to John, and he has testified to the truth… He was a lamp that was burning and shining, and you wanted to rejoice greatly for a short time in his light. But I have a testimony greater than that from John”. (John 5:33, 35-36)
The Jewish Leaders heard the testimony of John the Baptist but they didn’t believe it. Now they would hear the testimony of Jesus, the Son of God. Jesus hoped they would listen to Him!
We are also blessed in having heard the testimony of both John and Jesus but do we listen?
Lord Jesus, grant me the wisdom and grace to live by your teachings and share your testimony with my family and all whom I come in contact with.
Prayer: Service of the Poor
Make us worthy, Lord,
to serve our brothers and sisters throughout the world,
who live and die in poverty and hunger.
Give them, through our hands,
this day their daily bread,
and by our understanding love,
give them peace and joy.
Make us, Lord,
worthy to serve our brothers and sisters,
scattered all over the world,
who live and die alone and poor.
Give them today, using our hands, their daily bread.
And, using our love, give them peace and happiness. Amen.
Hymn: I Give You My Heart
Almighty Father, thank you for this new day. Bless me and keep me safe.
Lord Jesus Christ, guide me in my work, silence my fears and accept my achievements as a small gift of thanks to You.
