When Jesus was questioned about when the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem would take place He replied, “Watch out that you are not misled. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ Do not follow them!” (Luke 21: 5-10)
The destruction of Jerusalem happened in 70 AD and many people continue to falsely claim, “I am he,” all as Jesus prophesied.
The “end of the age” will also come, we do not know when.
Lord Jesus, help me to keep your commandments and remain faithful to your teachings, in continuous readiness for my judgement day.
Prayer: Poor – Daily Service
Make us worthy, Lord,
to serve our brothers and sisters throughout the world,
who live and die in poverty and hunger.
Give them, through our hands,
this day their daily bread,
and by our understanding love,
give them peace and joy.
Make us, Lord,
worthy to serve our brothers and sisters,
scattered all over the world,
who live and die alone and poor.
Give them today, using our hands, their daily bread.
And, using our love, give them peace and happiness. Amen.
Hymn: Be Thou My Vision
Almighty Father, thank you for this new day. Bless me and keep me safe.
Lord Jesus Christ, guide me in my work, silence my fears and accept my achievements as a small gift of thanks to You.
