Herod’s Confusion About Jesus

Extract:

Sketch - Perplexed

Herod was, “Greatly perplexed!”

Although he had John the Baptist beheaded, some were describing Jesus as, “John raised from the dead!” (Luke 9:7-9)

The perplexed Herod wanted to meet Jesus but sadly, for all the wrong reasons; he wanted to see him perform miraculous signs, not to hear His teachings.

Thought

Jesus continues to perform many daily miraculous signs here on earth.

Have you noticed any of his great work recently?

Reflection

Lord Jesus, thank you for your many blessings. Strengthen my desire to understand your teachings better, so that one day, I will be worthy to meet you, face-to-face.

Prayer: Trust In Jesus (St Ignatius of Loyola)

O Christ Jesus,
when all is darkness
and we feel our weakness and helplessness,
give us the sense of Your presence,
Your love, and Your strength.
Help us to have perfect trust
in Your protecting love
and strengthening power,
so that nothing may frighten or worry us,
for, living close to You,
we shall see Your hand,
Your purpose, Your will through all things.

Private Moments

Hymn: Lord, I Lift Your Name On High

Almighty Father, thank you for this new day. Bless me and keep me safe.

Lord Jesus Christ,  guide me in my work, silence my fears and accept my achievements as a small gift of thanks to You.
